This conference focused on carbon pricing as an effective market mechanism widely used to mitigate climate change and on international cooperation as a key driver for accelerating global decarbonization. The discussions delved into the implementation of carbon pricing mechanisms worldwide and the latest developments in negotiations on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, analyzing their impact on global climate action and exploring strategies to leverage carbon pricing and international cooperation to help Taiwan achieve its 2050 net-zero transformation goals.
The event was moderated by Robert Shih, General Manager of YC Holdings Inc., who drew on his extensive consultancy experience and industry background to guide participants through the current status and future development of carbon markets and international cooperation. The conference featured an impressive lineup of internationally renowned speakers: First, Dr. Jürgen Landgrebe, Head of the German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt) at the German Environment Agency (UBA), provided an in-depth analysis of how the Emissions Trading System in Germany supports cities in achieving net-zero goals, offering concrete examples of its practical implementation.
