Pro-actively Participating in Activities to the UNFCCC

Climate change is now redefining the course of global development, becoming a critical issue that affects national security, economic transition, and social resilience. In confronting this common challenge, Taiwan, as a responsible member of the international community, pro-actively engages with activities to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) with a forward-looking vision in responding to global mitigation goals through multi-level actions.

Taiwan has set a clear target of achieving net zero emissions by 2050 and promotes long-term pathways and medium-term reduction milestones through institutionalized and transparent approaches. In line with the spirit of the Paris Agreement, Taiwan has voluntarily submitted its 2035 Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0), outlining emission reduction goals and action plans. Meanwhile, through the periodical publication of the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Biennial Transparency Report, Taiwan ensures information disclosure and alignment with international standards, demonstrating its determination to fulfill global climate commitments.

Amid the global trends of net zero transition, Taiwan continues to deepen energy transition, drive industrial innovation and social participation, uniting collective efforts to build a futuristic nation that is competitive and sustainable, thereby contributing substantial strength to global climate actions.
